Two important accessories to be worn with a sari include a Petticoat and a Blouse.

Petticoat: it is like fairly tight long skirt to be tied using a cotton tape or elastic. it is used to give grip to the sari.

Blouse: It is like a small sized shirt that can be tied In front or back depending upon the comfort level.

To actually tie the sari in a fine manner one must tie the petticoat tightly. Now take the inner edge of the sari and try to fix it in front of the petticoat and now roll the sari towards the left hand side.

After tucking one end gather the pleats neatly and tuck it into the petticoat. Make sure that the breadth of all the pleats is even and kept one over another and try to avoid messing up during this time because the grace or sari is dependant on the arrangement of pleat. Again tuck this arrangement of pleats in front.

Once done with the pleats its time to place your palla over the left shoulder covering the arrangement of pleats.

Another way of placing the palla would be trying to arrange it so that it comes from the back over the left shoulder and covering the front. This style is generally known as gujarati style of wearing a sari.
